WatchOS 2.0.1 Released: New Update Contains Various Fixes and New Features

By

For Apple fans who have Watch, you might have already heard from Apple OS developers that there's a new version out. What people might not know yet though is what exactly happened since the last OS update

Released yesterday, the update arrived one month after Apple first released watchOS 2 to Apple Watch owners. The watchOS 2 release included new features like Nightstand mode, native apps, new watch faces and many more.

Apple Watch has been armed with a set of new features including third-party complications, new timelapse watch faces and more. Tech Radar reports to users that Apple Watch now has an extended battery life span with the new watchOS release.

However, Techno Buffalo also shares that the new release did come with its share of bugs, but watchOS 2.0.1 did manage to fix multiple existing bugs from the previous version.

Here's a look into the complete change log:

What's New in 2.0.1:
● Fixes an issue that could cause software updates to stall
● Fixes issues that were impacting battery performance
● Resolves an issue that prevented a managed iPhone from syncing iOS Calendar events to Apple Watch
● Addresses an issue that could prevent location information from properly updating
● Fixes an issue that could cause Digital Touch to send from an email address instead of a phone number
● Addresses an issue that could cause instability when using a Live Photo as a watch face
● Resolves an issue that allows the sensors to stay on indefinitely when using Siri to measure heart rate

Additional bug updates will include an upgrade in Apple Pay on Watch's security, stalled software, location information updating, Digital Touch and Live Photos on watch faces and many other security upgrades as Tech Radar continues to narrate.

Owners of Apple Watch can download 2.01 update through Apple Watches' dedicated app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update. The update will require a minimum of 50% on your battery life and that the watch be plugged into its charger. The iPhone to update must be within range and have at least iOS 9.1 or 9.0.2 to be installed.
