Apple has not confirmed anything yet regarding the anticipated iPhone 7. However, it doesn't stop the Internet and everybody from speculating about the rumored flagship smartphone.
The Cupertino-based tech giant recently launched the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus models, but some of the attention is now pointed at next year's iPhone. What will it most likely look like?
One of the most common design speculations is that the new phone will not sport a home button. For some, the button is an integral part of the whole device. However, some want it gone for extra over-all screen space.
The home-button-less design was thought of by Designer Hasan Kaymak, according to The Week. In this age of larger and larger screens, the design might not really be far-fetched at all.
Still on the display, the iPhone 7 is also speculated to finally sport a sapphire display. Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray said that it could be the first iOS device to move away from the traditional display glass. Under the hood, Apple's new phone might have a larger battery capacity. Smartphones have been previously criticised for draining batteries quickly.
While the situation seemed to have improved with today's updated phones, Munster believes that the new iPhone 7 will have a significantly longer battery life, according to BGR.
Munster wrote in a note to investors: "We believe a home-buttonless iPhone has a 50% chance for the iPhone 7. Another area on which we believe Apple may focus is battery life. Looking at Macs over the past few years, Apple has close to doubled battery life for its Macbook line up (largely 5 hour battery to ~10 hours). It has achieved this through more efficient processors and software. We believe battery life is one of the biggest areas of potential improvement and one that might be most welcomed by customers."
In addition, the anticipated iOS 10 or iOS X may also be launched alongside the new smartphone,a according to Forbes. There could also be new features included.
Loyal Apple fans will have to wait for confirmation on the rumored iPhone 7. The earliest release date could be in 2016.
