Google Maps Can Now Check Fuel Prices and Add Route Stops

By

It's common for drivers today to want to take a look at gas prices before they drive off to one. Google now allows people to do just that. With the release of updated features for Google Maps, users now have the ability to determine fuel prices of nearby gas stations so you can see which nearby station has the cheapest prices.

Phone Arena comments by saying that this app can be of great function given that with it, many drivers will be able to save more money with the information now provided by Google's navigation tool.

With the rise of major navigation apps like Waze, Google has stepped up by improving the way Google Maps provides services, adding features like gas price listings and adding a stop to your route, which is another added feature that will also be available with the launch of the new update as told by Tech Crunch.

In a blog post by Google, they made the announcement that the new update will be rolled out over the next few weeks. As of this writing, it is not yet available with direct downloads from Google Play, but is available to download from other unofficial sites (however, this is not recommended).

The added stop searching feature also allows you to search for specific stop you would like to make such as coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations. This feature is available while you are in Navigation mode.

To access the search options, navigators simply have to tap on the overflow button at the bottom right and tap "Search along route". Another alternative means would be to hit the search button near the top right for a drop-down interface with the same options.

Contrary to circulating assumptions, both services are still only available while online. To date, Google Maps is still the most popular navigation app surpassing over 1 Billion downloads.
