HTC Desire 816 has been confirmed by the tech brand's official list of Android 6.0 Marshmallow expected time of arrival revealed late last week. Accordingly, the device is now in development stage ready to receive the upgrade by the first quarter of 2016.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to roll out on HTC Desire 816 smartphones beginning in January 2016 as the Taiwan giant ha confirmed through a post that the device is indeed one of the lucky smartphones and tablets. Desire 816 is now in development stage wherein HTS is on the verge of integrating its very own Sense user interface with Android 6.0 Marshmallow software.
Desire 816 is currently receiving the Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop depending on the carrier and region. This update comes with the Sense 7.0. However, it was not mentioned in the list if Marshmallow will bring in also Sense 7.0 but it most likely is.
If Marshmallow will jump off to the device, HTC must be planning to totally shrug off Android 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 Lollipop versions. This report has not been validated by HTC as well.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come in with a few improvements in apps and software configurations, plus new and fresh features straight from Google dev. These include the battery saver named Doze, smarter Google Now with more suggestions and recommendations, Apps Permissions, direct share, additional mobile payment systems like Google Pay, Visa, Discovery and Master Card, supports for Android Pay and fingerprint scanner, among many others.
HTC Desire 816 is a mid-range phablet rocking a 5.5-inch screen with a 720p resolution on a super LCD. Its build is made off plastic material on the front and sides and a shiny fingerprint magnet rear panel.
It has loud BoomSound speakers on the front panel making the device convertible into a portable video player and gaming device. It runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, a 1.5 Gb of RAM, and a 2,600 mAh battery.
Desire 816 costs US 300 dollars only.
