Google is notorious for adding neat little easter eggs into its products - like their own version of the frustrating yet addictive game, Flappy Bird.
When Google released Android 5.0, users were amused by the little Flappy-Bird-inspired mini-game embedded into the Chrome browser. It has been confirmed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system will have the same feature.
Express says that:
"The Flappy Bird tribute was a nice way to waste some time and is always ready-to-play without having to download anything from the Play Store".
The game icon app does not appear anywhere on the display screen. Users have to dig through the phone interface and into the settings of their smartphones to find it.
When a user gets to settings, he or she will have to go to System then the About Tablet button. From there they will have to tap numerous times on the Android version. The game will promptly open when a big marshmallow appears on the screen inside a circle. A long press on the image will allow the user to access the game.
Tech Times writes that Google launched their latest phones, the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X, already equipped and installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow last September 29. Other devices still do not have the update available, but Google has been constantly releasing updates and requirements for OEMs to comply with. OEMs are now working double-time to meet the minimum requirements.
The game play of the "flappy droid" (the tiny-winged bird is replaced by the Google Android mascot) is pretty much the same but with a little twist. Android Central reports that the lollipops for obstacles are replaced by marshmallows with antennae and little beady eyes.
It's too early to tell if Google has already had all of its easter eggs unveiled, but hints have been given that there could be more coming along the way, if not in the initial release, then possibly in succeeding beta releases.
