Official iPad Pro Release Date Confirmed? FCC Filing Points To November

By

Apple's all-new iPad Pro has no official release date yet; however, a new prediction based on an FCC filing points that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 competitor might go on sale on November 6.

The Cupertino-based company recently introduced the larger-than-usual tablet in September. However, Apple did not mention a launch date, leaving fans yearning for more information.

Recent reports have predicted that the iPad Pro release date could be around the first two weeks of November. Earlier reports before the unveiling have also predicted that it could be in the later part of the month.

Now, a Japanese publication is predicting that the launch date could be exactly on November 6. The said publication cited sources from Apple's own supply chain in China, according to iDigitalTimes.

If ever the iPad Pro would be launched next month, the Apple Pencil would also come with it. The specialized and overpriced stylus is claimed to mimic a real pen or pencil based on the pressure applied. It has a hefty price tag of $99.

Besides the supposed release date, the FCC filing also confirmed the tablet's connectivity features. The cellular model will have Category 4 LTE support which allows it to reach download speeds of 150 Mbps. It will also have the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options, according to the International Business Times.

Apple's iPad Pro has been pitted against the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 in terms of the specs and physical features. For instance, the former has a size of 221mm x 306mm while the latter is smaller at 201mm x 292mm.

However, the tablet from Apple is lighter at 723g for the LTE model and 713g for the base Wi-Fi model. Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 4 is heavier at 786g for the Core i5 + i7 model and 766g for the Core M, according to Gizmag.

Surprisingly, Microsoft's tablet is more expensive than the iPhone maker's. The tablet and pen combo costs $899, while the keyboard option is at $1,029. In contrast, the iPad Pro costs $799 for the tablet only. Users who want the keyboard and Apple Pencil will have to pay $1067.

There is no exact release date for the IPad Pro yet. However, all of the recent reports point to the month of November. Users can expect the tablet to become available next month.
