Android 6.0 Marshmallow is confirmed coming to HTC Desire 816G via the official over-the-air (OTA) release. The software upgrade is now on development stage for the device and is slated to roll out in the first quarter of 2016.
HTC Desire 816G will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software upgrade via OTA release which is expected to come by January next year. However, it was not confirmed yet if Marshmallow will come with Sense 7.0 user interface. In HTC's support page for Marshmallow, it emphasized its focus to provide timely software updates for HTC Sense technology and Google Android.
This device is currently on development stage where in the device manufacturer will assimilate the Sense interface with the new Marshmallow software. If development stage is successful, testing will immediately come after to assess the performance of the new build whether it is ready or not. Official release will come afterwards if testing succeeds. Nevertheless, official date will depend on mobile carrier or location.
Meanwhile, HTC is currently testing the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the device which is supposed to bring the Sense 6.0 while its first maintenance release is still in evaluation and if lucky enough shall be rolled out by November or December 2015. With this, the device will be skipping the Android Lollipop versions 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.1.1.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software will bring in the key enhancements in overall performance for a more enjoyable Android experience, plus all-new features. This includes Doze, a battery saver; smarter Google Now carrying more suggestions and recommendations on nearby restaurants, locations, parking areas, etc; better Apps Permissions, more convenient controls; and many more.
HTC Desire 816 is 5.5-inch smartphone with HD display. It rocks a 1,3 Ghz quad-core MediaTek processor, A GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage expandable to 32 GB, 13 MP main camera, 5 MP front camera, and a 2600 mAh battery. It also has speakers on the front panel for sound quality.
