Although her choice of footwear in the previous film sparked controversies, Bryce Dallas Howard recently guaranteed the absence of her high heels in the forthcoming Jurassic World 2. She also further hinted on a possible return of classic characters from previous films.
Rescuing children in the jungle and running for one's life from a gigantic dinosaur are probably not the best scenarios to wear heels, but Howard's character, Claire, completed that and more in the previous movie.
Despite the controversy that started due to her character's choice to wear heels through most part of the film, Howard defended her character by saying that it is completely logical, given Claire's position as the Operations Manager in the park.
"Claire never thought that she was going to end up traipsing through the jungle, let alone outrunning a T-Rex! She worked in an office and that's how she dressed. She's a woman who could probably run a marathon in heels, and would, and would prefer it", Howard explained.
However as reported by Independent , Howard also confirmed that in Jurassic World 2, director Collin Trevorow assured her that the heels will no longer appear.
"The way that Colin told me that the sequel was happening and I was going to be in it, he texted me: "#NoHeels2018" and I was like, 'Yeah boy'. She needs to be ready to run, potentially", she added.
Moreover, with the return of Dr. Wu in Jurassic World and his escape with the specimens, interesting speculations have surfaced that characters from previous Jurassic Park films could also return in the upcoming sequel to help Owen and Claire fight against the evil geneticist's plans.
Although the return of the classic characters is yet to be confirmed, Howard previously shared during her talk with IGN that she can imagine such collaboration happen. "I could see versions of the film where a lot of the characters come back, and just as a fan of the franchise, I would be totally stoked on that. ", the actress revealed.
As stated by Scified, Howard also previously hinted that filming for the sequel is currently slated for a 2017 start date, which will give them enough time for their June 2018 release date. Aside from Howard, Chris Pratt is also expected to return to reprise his role as Owen Grady.
Director Colin Trevorrow previously stated that Claire will be the main focal point of the trilogy which will also witness her character's evolution. Jurassic World 2 is currently in pre-production and plot details are scarce as of yet. However, more details are expected to be revealed when production makes progress.
