'Prometheus 2', otherwise called, 'Alien: Paradise Lost' is an upcoming science-fiction film that may feature Rebecca Ferguson of 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' fame in the lead. The latest draft of the script revealed an important female role as well as a new group of "travelers" for the sequel by Ridley Scott.
According to /Film, Ferguson is tagged to star in the upcoming sequel of 2012's 'Prometheus' directed by famed filmmaker Ridley Scott. Although no deal is on the table as of the present, she is definitely considered for a major role in the follow-up film.
The Swedish actress is best known for her role in the latest installment in the 'Mission Impossible' franchise starring Tom Cruise. She played Ilsa Faust in 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation'. She was also cast as Elizabeth Woodville in BBC's 'The White Queen' where she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film.
Ferguson seems to be one of Hollywood's newest sought-after leading ladies with major studios wanting to book her for their upcoming projects. According to Collider, she was offered a big role in Fox's 'Gambit' before turning it down to work on 'The Girl On the Train' adaptation with Emily Blunt, Jared Leto and Chris Evans. She is also in talks to star in 'The Snowman' with Michael Fassbender.
According to Cinema Blend, Ferguson may helm a key role in Scott's latest masterpiece. After 15 versions of the script had been reviewed, it was hinted that the latest contains "a peach of a female role" - one that presumably belongs to Ferguson should reports be accurate. It was also revealed that a new group of "travelers" will be introduced and it became a possibility that Ferguson will be one of them.
It was initially reported that 'Alien: Paradise Lost' will pick-up after the events of 'Prometheus' with Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender's David setting out for the Engineers' home planet to find answers.
'Alien: Paradise Lost' is scheduled to be released on May 20, 2017. It will be directed-produced by Ridley Scott and based by the screenplay penned by Michael Green and Jack Paglen. It is co-produced by David Giler and Walter Hill.
