Marvel is moving ahead with phase 3, and announced new details for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. The studio released new details pertaining to their planned filming in Australia while Mark Ruffalo confirmed to appear in the film as Hulk.
While it was previously revealed that filming for Thor will be set in Australia, Comic Book Movie recently detailed further that the film will take place in Queensland. Production for the film will take place primarily in the state, as pre-production in the film is expected to begin in January 2016, while filming is currently sealed on a June 2016 starting date.
Moreover, Premiere Annastacia Palaszczuk expressed her delight with Marvel's decision to film in the state. "This is a huge win for Queensland and I am thrilled that Thor will be filming exclusively in our state", Ms. Palaszczuk said. "As our economy diversifies, Queensland is demonstrating its strength as a lead destination for filmmakers both internationally and locally, and my government is doing what it can to ensure that Queensland remains a global hub for the screen sector."
Ms. Palaszczuk also added that the production will spend more than $100 million AU D, and will employ more than 750 Queensland crew. The production for Thor: Ragnarok is expected to film at varied locations throughout Queensland including the Village Show Studios at the Gold Coast.
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are expected to reprise their roles as Thor and Loki respectively, with Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. Furthermore, as stated by Bleeding Cool, Mark Ruffalo has also confirmed to appear as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Ruffalo said that he believes there is plenty of room to explore on Bruce Banner and the Hulk adding that a scene between the two would be good.
Although it has not been revealed yet how Ruffalo's Hulk will fit in the Asgardian god's film, Comic Book cited the movie Hulk vs Thor where Loki separated Hulk from Bruce Banner causing the green gigantic man to send havoc in Asgard. It is also worth noting that Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost who wrote Hulk vs Thor are also onboard the upcoming Thor film. However, until official details are disclosed these speculations must be treated with a grain of salt.
Thor: Ragnarok will be the last film in the trilogy and will be directed by Taika Waititi. Plot details are currently under wraps but more details are expected to be revealed when production takes progress. It is currently slated to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
