Samsung Devices to Get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Upgrade Announced

Samsung users should get ready! An official list of Samsung devices that will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been released.

With the release of final code for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Android users should be receiving the update via OTA (over the air) in the near future. The Gospel Herald Technology reports that Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint and along with their international counterparts are among the networks that will get the Android 6.0 update.

According to NeuroGadget, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update will be available for Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4 and Note 5. Like any other OTA, the release of the Google-created mobile operating system will be released in phases.

Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Note 4 and 5 will most probably be the first to receive the updates by the end of the year. Users of Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha, might have to wait longer. There are doubts to whether Note 3 will still be receiving the upgrade.

Realty Today adds that the list was revealed by the South Korean tech giant themselves, and that Samsung has confirmed the release of the long awaited update. Samsung further adds that they will be incorporating their own software to the latest update of the Google Operating System.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with many exciting features such as the application of fingerprint sensors to make Google Play purchases. This feature will be tied up with Google Pay and increases the security of Android users. Another much awaited software feature includes the Doze feature, which improves the battery life of the device.

Samsung users can now check to see if the update is available by going to your device's Settings->About Phone->System Updates->Check now for update.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for Samsung devices will most probably come by end of 2015 or early 2016.
