After the recent statement of Frank O'Connor of 343 Industries that sparked rumors that Halo 5: Guardians may appear on PC, Microsoft Corporation have made their official announcement on social media. The software maker said that the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians will not be coming to PC.
Tech Times reported the actual statement made by O'Connor about the matter when asked by a fan: "You've seen the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear on the Xbox, with Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could be on PC. Nothing to announce at this point, but it's absolutely not outside the bounds of reason."
This may have given hope to some fans but Microsoft shed light about this topic in a post shared on Twitter saying that this is not true. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg said in response to O'Connor's that the "game is being made exclusively for Xbox One."
This response by Microsoft was somehow expected by some fans of the game, even after the statement from 343 Industries. Halo is known to have a quite troubled PC history, with just Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved entering the platform. Now that Halo 5: Guardians will hit Xbox One, players seem to understand why Microsoft made the console the only place where gamers can continue the Master Chief's adventures.
In another report from Bidness Etc, they said that Microsoft has been aggressively pushing gaming on Windows after Windows 10 got released in July of this year. While the the company had previously ignored PC gaming and put their main focus on home console alone, they are now putting Windows gaming on their top priority.
While the statement by Microsoft ended the hope of some Halo fans, others still await the possibility of Halo 5 Guardians on PC. Whatever changes that could come in the future still need to be determined.
