When Apple unveiled the iPhone 6s and iPad Pro, Apple followers all felt one notable piece missing to the line-up - the iPad Mini 3. Though sources claim that this was to give more emphasis to the much bigger iPad Pro.
The latest rumours, according to Alphr, is that the innovation tech company will be revealing to Apple users a the third revision of the much lighter and thinner iPad Air by first quarter of 2016 and that it will be selling for around £399.
Christian Today does say however that plans were to release the third generation this year. However, with a solid release by competitor, Microsoft of their Surface Pro 4, Apple decided to concentrate all efforts to promote and build the iPad Pro.
The latest iteration of the Apple tablet will weigh just around 295 grams. The screen features have been listed with rumoured specs to be a 9.7 inch screen and 4K screen resolution of 2,334 x 3,112. Apple users are also hoping to see the tablet run on the latest chipset technology, being run on either an A9 or an A9X chipset.
IT Pro further adds how the battery size is also foreseen to decrease, in line with the new iPhones. Apple users may also see an iPad Mini 3 with an IPX7 waterproofing certificate. One thing is for sure is that the software for the tablet will be prepared now to run and support settings for iOS 9 and will have memory of up to 128GB.
With the increase in fierce competition across the board, Apple's latest quarterly reports show a 19% decline year on year in iPad sale, reaching a record lowest in the last four years. The release of the iPad Air 3 could make or break Apple's presence in the tablet market so it's likely that the company is taking it's time to properly strategize the release of the next Apple tablet.
