First-Ever Xiaomi Laptop to Arrive in First Half of 2016

Xiaomi is reportedly making its first-ever MacBook Air-like notebook computer product in China. The device is expected to be released in the first half of 2016 as well as will be manufactured and designed by Inventec.

Xiaomi has already a big fan base in China and a few other countries where it manages. As reported, it has more than 20 million registered smartphone users.

According to Taipei Times, Richard Lee, Inventec Corporation chairman, has confirmed that Xiaomi is in the works of creating its first laptop. The China-based electronics company is known for its solid hardware and features at competitive prices. The chairman has also stated that Xiaomi is most likely to take on the similar smartphone business technology for its laptop. He has confirmed this news by saying "We will start shipping Xiaomi's notebook computers in the first or second quarter of next year."

Furthermore, Lee expects Xiaomi to shake up the notebook industry the same way it did with its handsets. He anticipates that this brand-new laptop will bring something big to the market. It might sport a cheap price tag, just like its handsets.

Apart from smartphones, it is also worth noting that the company sells other gadgets, such as wearables, networking, televisions, and several home appliances. However, a new laptop could give it another source of revenue.

Most probably, the forthcoming laptop will be limited to China at first. Nevertheless, it is possible that the new notebook computer could have a broader release.

Since Xiaomi has already offered some non-smartphone products in Europe and United States online, it is no wonder that this new gadget won't be limited to just a handful regions.

At this point, it is still unknown if the laptop will run Windows 10 or not. On the whole, Xiaomi has to officially confirm all the information mentioned, but in all probability, the new laptop will come in the first half of next year.
