In the coming episode of "Madam Secretary", the death of President Ostrov (Olek Krupa) will ignite the beginning of insurgency in Russia.
Episode 5, titled "The Long Shot," will have Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) and President Dalton (Keith Carradine) in utter distress for fear of the events that could ensue after the Russian leader's demise. In a report by ChristianToday, they are expecting that people within the government are possibly planning a coup d'état. In their present situation, power grabbing can ultimately cause unrest in the already unstable country. It is here that the United States must to everything they can to not let Russia fall into the temptations of power.
In a synopsis from CarterMatt for 'The Long Shot': In the wake of President Ostrov's death, Elizabeth and President Dalton fear a power grab within the Russian government. Also, the government's Cyber Security Coordinator, Oliver Shaw (Kobi Libii), works to identify the hacker who interfered with the communication system on Air Force One, and Jay devises a plan to fight Russian propaganda.
It's definitely going to be a jam-packed episode after the big Russian leader's death and last episode's controversial issues. As recalled, Elizabeth and Henry were shocked to find out that their daughter's naked photo created a buzz on the internet. Stevie's intimate relationship with the president's son was exposed to the world, and Harrision's phone went missing after promising Stevie that he would delete their pictures, which he didn't apparently.
President Dalton wanted their children to be interviewed on television in order for them to admit that they're really in love. This is to lessen the impact of the scandal somehow. However, Elizabeth didn't want her daughter's image to be tarnished, identifying her as a "heroin addict." Turns out, the one who leaked the photos was a CIA agent wanting to get revenge on the system, thus the hacking.
