'Grimm' Season 5 Plot Details: Nick's Fury, Mystery of the Seven Keys

By

'Grimm' returns on its fifth season this coming October 30 on NBC. Following the events of the previous season, this next instalment might just be the most-anticipated one yet, as Nick is out with a vengeance after his mother's tragic demise and Juliette's untimely death. This season will also unlock the mystery of the Seven Keys.

At the start of Season 5 of "Grimm", viewers will see Nick's state after the excruciating pain he experienced in the previous season. One sneak peek, as reported by Christian Post, shows the last season's finale ending right after Trubel shot and killed Nick's girlfriend, Juliette with a crossbow in order to save him. During that tormenting moment, Nick watched his former lover die in his arms. As Nick is weeping and hovering over Juliette's lifeless body, a gang of masked invaders break into his home and kidnaps Trubel. The preview also shows Juliette's funeral and Nick giving her a kiss as she lies in a coffin.

In another teaser released by NBC via Christian Post, Nick informs his partner, Hank that Juliette was killed and Trubel was taken away by masked men. Nick suspects that FBI Agent Chavez might be behind the kidnapping and plans to eradicate her.

According to a report by MNRDaily, David Giuntoli, who plays Nick, said that "a lot of revenge" can be expected in the upcoming season. He also teased that his character will have his hands full doing some "bizarre" co-parenting with Adalind. Giuntoli adds, "He lost his girlfriend, he lost his mom ... and the baby is kind of the reason for him to keep going."

Meanwhile, some good news is also expected this season on the "unlocking" of the mystery of the Seven Keys and the treasure that they possess. It is known that the Seven Keys belonged to the seven knights who were ancestors to present-day Grimms. They worked for the Seven Families during the 12th century. The Seven Keys, when combined, forms a map that leads to a treasure which the knights procured from Constantinople following the Fourth Crusade. It is not known what the actual treasure is but the Royal Families are desperate to get a hold of it as it's supposed to be an artifact so powerful that it would enable them to rule the world.

Not even the Royals know what treasure it truly holds but it could be the key to one of these legendary secrets: the sword of the prophet Muhammad, the key to unlocking alchemy, the secret to immortality, and the nails used in the crucifixion of Jesus, perhaps even with pieces of the Cross itself.

According to Vine Report, Nick has two of the keys while the Royals have four. One of the keys remain missing but it is believed that the map will lead to Germany's Black Forest.

Watch out for the premiere of 'Grimm' Season 5 on NBC next Friday, October 30.
