Android mobile gamers have another tool at their disposal. Google recently launched a Google Play Games update that allows users to record their gameplay and even include their voice and face.
Gameplay videos aren't new in the Internet. In fact, there are several online stars that make their money by posting their gameplay reactions on YouTube. One of them is PewDiePie, who is considered to be one of the wealthiest YouTube stars.
Google's new gameplay recording feature gives Android users a chance to do the same thing. Users can record in either 480p or 720p resolution, according to Droid Life. They can also choose to include a recording of their face and their voice.
However, the feature is not for those hour-long gameplay footages. It's ideal for recording short raids on Clash of Clans or if you want to show how to beat a level on Candy Crush.
It can be used in tandem with YouTube Gaming, an app that can automatically upload videos saved on the phone to YouTube under the user's account. Who knows? The user can rack up views and make money too, according to Tech Crunch.
The Google Play Games recording feature does not have video editing capabilities. Users will have to do their edits and compositing on their own if they wish to do so. They can also add their own music before uploading them to their account.
Gameplay recordings are big on desktop users. Some players like to livestream or record their game on League of Legends or even DOTA 2. Some championships are even live streamed worldwide for everyone interested to see.
The Google Play Games feature will be made available to the United States and United Kingdom Android users for now, according to The Next Web. Soon, the search engine giant may roll out the update to other regions and areas across the globe.
Android users may have yet another advantage over the Apple iOS device users with the new feature. Google Play can be updated manually through the app.
