The most recent episode of The Flash introduced Jefferson “Jax” Jackson as the second Firestorm, while a family secret of the West Family has been unlocked as well. Showrunner Andrew Kresiberg talked about these new storylines following the big episode and how it will impact the characters moving forward.
In a recent report from IGN, Kreisberg weighed in on the difference between Ronnie Raymond as the original Firestorm fans have met in season one and the new metahuman viewers saw in the Oct. 27th installment.
“The idea of a second Firestorm being somebody who is just sort of in his early 20s and somebody who was radically different from this Firestorm”, the executive producer said.
He also continued that Firestorm 2.0 gives the writers more room to introduce unique funny banters and comedy scenes among Team Flash.
Meanwhile, family drama within the West household got even bigger when Momma West revealed that she has another son named Wally. According to Kreisberg, the introduction of this new character will put Iris in a difficult position among the people close to her.
"Iris is now in the position that Barry was in last year," he said in a report from The Hollywood Reporter. Iris is now keeping a secret to protect somebody and this arc will be putting some weight on her down the line. To this end, Kreisberg warns that vieweres will finally see her decide to take some action in an upcoming episode.
Moving forward, viewers should expect for The Flash to finally launch the dopplegangers storyline.
“It’s about to go doppelganger a-go-go. Now we’re really going to pick up with… the Earth-Two storyline, so there will be doppelgangers and doubles,” Kreisberg teased in a report from Entertainment Weekly.
