Four days prior to its first season debut, Ash vs. Evil Dead has been officially granted a second season pickup from Starz. The cable network made this announcement on Wednesday. The upcoming horror series, which hails from Sam Raimi, will air every Saturday at 9 PM on Starz.
As reported by Variety, the cable network’s managing director Carmi Zlotnik has released a statement following the season two renewal.
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two decade-long appetite for more Ash. The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one,” she said.
ComingSoon shared that the second season will continue with The Evil Dead executive producers and filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Talpert and Craig DiGregorio. Campbell is also set to reprise his role as aging monster-hunter, Ash Williams. He will be joined by Lucy Lawless who will continue for the role of Ruby, described as a mysterious figure who thinks that the former is the one to blame for the Evil outbreaks.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead will pickup 30 years later following the events that happened in the feature film, The Evil Dead. On the TV adaptation, Ash is still trying to make sense of what happened down at the cabin when he suddenly finds himself forced to battle against an army of deadites. TV Line has shared the premise in a report.
Now that Ash vs. Evil Dead has been officially renewed for a sophomore run, fans of Ash Williams may now look forward to a more concrete and solid run of episodes. Starz have yet to release the future storylines that are yet to be tackled on Ash vs. Evil Dead’s 10-episode second season.
