Mirror's Edge Catalyst has been under the radar for quite some time, but as of recently, some hints of the title have been spread online. Though EA and DICE have declared a release date to hold on to, it seems that the time needed to make the expansion a much better version may not be enough.
As reported by PC Mag, Mirror's Edge Catalyst is the upcoming second installment to the 2008 title Mirror's Edge, which was undoubtedly a success at its own right. Since the pressure has been on to make a second title, EA and DICE feels the need perfect it, and even after numerous years, it may not even be merely enough.
The authentic parkour-oriented series is meant to deliver a more refined approach in comparison to the first game, and in order to execute it, according to Techno Buffalo, EA and DICE look to take their time on fabricating the best possible system. As the title was originally meant to be launched on February 23, 2016, the team felt the need to move it a few months later, on May 24, 2016.
Delivered by Cinema Blend, Senior Producer Sara Jansson, stated that the team has a wide goal to chase after, and one of them is to produce the most enjoyable experience for fans, that will be both fun and motivationally addictive. Moreover, the environment created for the title looks to drive players into wanting to explore more, with a brand new terrain to go with the story appointed to it.
Sara Jansson was quoted saying, "We set out to create a vast city to explore, full of stunning vistas, majestic skyscrapers, and mysterious tunnels. We're building the most immersive action-adventure game with fluid movement and combat in first person. Mirror's Edge Catalyst will be an all-new playground with a deeper and more engaging story - and we want to accomplish all these goals to the highest quality possible. So we've made the decision to bring Mirror's Edge to the world starting May 24, 2016. We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it's as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be."
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a prequel to the first installment, and in a few months' time, fans will be able to get their hands on title, with a little bit of patience.
