Mirror's Edge: Catalyst: Fans Question Price for Limited Edition; Game Movement Discussed

By

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is already an enormous talk-of-the-town since the first time it was announced. But apparently, DICE and Electronic Arts may be pushing the fans a little too far forward beyond their wallets, as the apparent limited edition collectibles for the said game seems to be hurting the fans even more.

According to Destructoid, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is certainly one that fans are waiting for, as a continuity to the success of the first title. But despite the hype, fans are questioning the rate of the limited edition items are given. It does not mean that the fans would not purchase them, but the price of such may be one to throw the gamers off their interest.

Inclusive in the limited set, as reported by Irish Examiner, the free-running open-world action game presents a number of bonus items, including a lithograph, a steelbook, removable tattoos, a storage box and some concept art. Those, however, are not the main point of the collectible, as there is a 14-inch diorama that showcases the protagonist Faith with her young and older versions compressed in one artistic piece.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst has rumbled through the gaming industry with an amazing storyline-having a parkour-oriented gameplay is surely a great approach and is pure adrenaline rush. But that may not be enough justification for the price of the limited edition, coming at an astonishing £169. Many fans have attested that this may be a bit excessive, even as the game is truly a hit to anticipate for the coming months. The collector's edition may only be available in GAME stores, and may only have limited stocks, which may be the reason for the sky-high price that was appointed to it.

In other news, as delivered by Examiner, Lead Gameplay Designer Richard Antroia mentioned that "intuition" is vital as to how gamers must go through the movement system of the game. Antroia was quoted, "Moving forward and using what we call Up and Down Actions are the fundamentals of movement inMirror's Edge Catalyst. Fans of the first game will be familiar in how this is handled. Since there isn't a dedicated jump button the left shoulder buttons (or PC equivalent) will be used instead, signaling an intent from the player."

Keep posted for more details on Mirror's Edge Catalyst, as it slated for release on February 23, 2016.
