Episodes 1 and 2 of the thrilling TV adaptation of Philip K. Dick's alternative history novel "The Man in the High Castle" were streamed for free by Amazon in the last two weekends of October. On November 20, the entire series will premiere for unlimited viewing for all Prime subscribers as part of their buffet package.
The show tells the story of an alternate history that took place in the 1960s where the Axis powers won World War II and divided the United States into two distinct territories - the Eastern states which became under the iron grip of Nazi Germany and The Western states which were under the Japanese occupation reports Coming Soon.
However, the tension between Germany and Japan started to mount and was played out in western United States. "The Man in the High Castle" provides an intriguing story about life and history relative to authentic and alternative reality through its varied characters of spies, secret identities and sellers of information.
To create the alternate world, Mashable reports that the show's production team had to roll back time and then determine how one key moment in history could change the trajectory of the future. As lead director Daniel Percival puts it, they had to create a world that was "challenging and yet vastly familiar."
The show is created by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) who also takes the executive producer title with Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Isa Dick Hackett and David Semel. It stars some of today's most impressive talents Alexa Davlos, Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank, Rufus Sewell, DJ Qualls, Joel De La Fuente and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
Meanwhile, Hypable reports that the synopsis for the first episode titled "The New World" reveals that the members of the resistance movement through the instructions of a man only known as "The Man from the High Castle" fight to win back their nation by hunting down a number of enigmatic films which appear to show a reality other than their own. Nothing is certain in this uncertain world where fate is fluid and the choices of a few can affect the fates of many.
In case you missed the chance to watch the first two episodes of "The Man in the High Castle", Amazon Prime members will have access to the 10 episodes of the season beginning November 20.
