Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster is described as the prequel's origin or simply a prequel to a prequel, many fans observed.
After the release of Resident Evil 0 Developer Diary video, fans likely labelled the game as prequel's origin as the video gave comprehensive view of the game, notes Adam Dodd.
As recalled in an interview by Game Spot with Resident Evil 0 HD producer Tsukasa Takenaka, they thought that it was a good decision to bring RE0 because it is a prequel to RE1. RE0 explains what happen in the mansion and all the unexplained and mysterious incidents depicted in RE1.
"Like for example, that famous scene in Resident Evil 1 when you walk down the corridor and there's someone being eaten by a zombie, and the zombie turns around and looks at you. If you play Resident Evil 0, you can find out who that guy was who was being eaten and why he was there. It seemed like the right time to let this game come back as an HD remaster," Takenaka further explained.
Aside from the importance of the back story provided by RE0, Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster is not just a simple HD remaster but it will include new features not available in the original release, according to Geek Snack. The new feature is called the Wesker Mode where players are able to play as the series' villain. Also, two special attires for Albert Wesker and S.T.A.R member Rebecca Chambers are presented in this mode.
The RE0 also showcases a unique partner system which permits players to change between the two main characters to unravel riddles and continue through the game, Game Spot added.
The Resident Evil 0 HD remaster will hit the shelves in January 2016 in North America and Europe on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
