What’s Bigger than The Witcher 3? It’s Cyberpunk 2077, Says Developer

Witcher 3 may be big but CD Projekt Red has announced that the new game Cyberpunk 2077 is far bigger and better.

Although the Polish developer is tightlipped about the game, Visual Effects Artist Jose Teixeira told MCV that "Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before."

"Far, far bigger. We're really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter," Teixeira added during his interview. He further explained that The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex.

"We really didn't know what was going to happen. If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it." he said.

Gamespot wrote Cyberpunk 2077 was first revealed in May 2012, although it did not have a name at the time. By October in the same year, the title was announced but there are not as much of details about the game. CD Projekt Red said that further specifics will be discuss until 2017 as they are trying to focus on The Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077 is fixed in 2077, in which technologies are both salvation and curse of humanity. The game is deliberately created not for children but for mature players. The game takes place in the Night City. A multi-thread, nonlinear story where player can also visit places from the pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020 including a combat zone taken over by gangs, the legendary Afterlife joint and the nostalgic Forlorn Hope.

As described by IGN, the sandbox nature of the game and mechanics inspired by the Cyberpunk pen-and-paper system deliver freedom of action and diversity in gameplay. The players, through their characters can experience the world in the game. The characters to be chosen from may be blood-thirsty mercenaries or cunning hackers.

CD Projekt Red is certain that hard core gamers are itching to play the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 since it is far bigger than Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
