Game Developers Bandai Namco and The Pokémon Company teased fans with a video featuring a more menacing Mewtwo and a masked Pikachu in the latest Tekken and Pokemon mashed up game.
The most recent trailer showed a small number of fighters ready to jump to the arena including a lucha libre-themed Pikachu and an materialization of Mewtwo that seems to be meaner than before, posted Shack News. The new trailer demonstrates a Tekken-style fighting and standard Pokemon assaults while introducing Pikachu Libre - a masked Pikachu that can do body slam and other wrestling-style moves. The latest installment also give entrance to a lab-created creature known as Mewtwo, a new twist of the 151st Pokémon. A short look of the new Mewtwo proposed that he is the game's final boss character.
IGN reported that the new form of Mewtwo is a surprised update. The Dark Mewtwo called the Shadow Mewtwo is a new boss character for the Japanese arcade version. Devotees of the Pokken Tournament speculated that the new form of psychic Pokémon may appear in Pokémon Z. It is also rumored that Shadow Mewtwo is a fusion of Mewtwo from X and Y Mega Evolutions.
The new Pokken Tournament trailer likewise highlights various Pokémon such as Blaziken and Charizard, described Game Rant. The video teaser shows a battle between ghost-type Pokemon Gengar and Shadow Mewtwo which leads to many questions like: "What is the purpose of the crystal embedded in his shoulder? How is Shadow Mewtwo created? Is he only a boss character, or will Shadow Mewtwo be part of the playable roster?"
Game Rant supposed that the crystal in the character's shoulder designates new item and "Shadow" suggests new form. If recalled, "Shadow" Pokemon come into view in the GameCube titles Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, but Shadow Mewtwo seemed a different creature from the Shadow Pokemon.
The game is making its way in 2016 to Wii U and is currently available as arcade game in Japan and in Dave & Buster's in North America.
