iPhone 6s And 6s Plus First Apple Smartphones To Receive Anandtech's 'Editors' Choice Gold' Award

Apple's recently released iPhone 6s and 6s Plus has brought not just a record breaking sales to the company, but also the Anandtech's Editors' Choice Gold award. This makes the two handsets the first iPhones to receive the award from the site that has started in 1997.

According to AnandTech, the iPhone 6s line has received the Editors' Choice Gold award based on certain criteria. The smartphone that has already received this award is a product that is not only one of the best in its category. This device is an extremely good product in a vacuum that pushed the smartphone user's experience forward in significant ways. Moreover, it stated that the iPhone 6s isn't a perfect phone, but receiving the second highest award is actually not necessary to make a "perfect" phone. There are areas that still need improvement, but nothing is a significant disadvantage to both flagship smartphones of Apple.

Furthermore, AppleInsider stated on it article that the Anandtech has compiled a series of benchmarks coming from general web browser and JavaScript performance to system, memory and graphics. It concluded that looking at Basemark OS II, Apple basically gained the lead across the board. Another was based on GFXBench, showing the A9 SoC just showed strange performance. Morever, the site added that overall, the Apple A9 SoC is the best SoC in any phone that has been manufactured as of te moment.

With the video game benchmarks run by GFXBench, AnandTech noted that iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are basically fastening T-Rex at the maximum possible frame rate for most of a 3-4 hour infinite run of this intense benchmark. In addition, there is no other SoC that has been tested this year can sustain this level of performance for this level of time.

It is also worth knowing some of the key features and specs of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, making it worthy of the Editors' Choice Gold award. The Economic Times cited on its review that both of the smartphone flagships of Apple is engineered by the company's A9 SoC (dual core) that works with M9 motion co-processor. These handsets were packed with a 2GB RAM and variety of 16 GB, 32 GB and 128GB storage. As for its connectivity, it is armed with global LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, WiFi ac, Touch ID v 2.0. It also sports the newest technology by Apple, the 3D Touch.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus supports 4k video and lightning connector. When it comes to the devices' camera, it sports an improved 12-megapixel iSight camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for FaceTime. Apart from their similar features, the iPhone 6s sports a 4.7" IPS LCD display and weighs 143 grams. Meanwhile the iPhone 6s Plus is armed with 5.5" IPS LCD Display and weigh 192 grams.

Many are already in the side of Apple when it comes to smartphones. With the AnandTech Editors' Choice Gold award, it could be a proof that these devices are indeed armed with award-winning features and specs.
