'Doctor Strange' may feature Michael Stuhlbarg of 'Boardwalk Empire' as the key character Nicodemus West. He is currently in negotiations to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch who plays the titular superhero. Kevin Feige admitted that he wants an MCU-TV show crossover to happen.

According to Cinema Blend, Michael Stuhlbarg is currently in negotiations to play Dr. Nicodemus West in Scott Derrickson's much-anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). West is a long- time admirer of Stephen Strange's skills and is said to be Stephen's professional rival in the medical field. He performed the surgery that left Stephen's hands with severe nerve damage that prompted both to train under the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj.

Stuhlbarg is the latest to join the already star-studded ensemble comprising of Benedict Cumberbatch for the title role, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen and Chiwetel Ejiofor. According to Film School Rejects, the offer will be Stuhlbarg's first role in a Marvel film.

The 47-year old actor is best known for his performance in HBO television series 'Boardwalk Empire' as an organized crime boss named Arnold Rothstein. He was nominated for several awards for his work on 'A Serious Man' including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. He went on to star in 'Steve Jobs', 'Blue Jasmine', 'Hitchcock', 'Men in Black 3' and 'Lincoln'.

Meanwhile, Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios admitted to planning crossovers between MCU's films and corresponding television shows according to Moviepilot. He said, "I think that's inevitable at some point, as we're plotting the movies going forward and they're doing the shows. Certainly as they do more shows -particularly in Daredevil-that may occur." Rachel McAdams as the rumored Night Nurse comes into play since Rosario Dawson is already taking up the said part for television's 'Daredevil'.

'Doctor Strange' is an upcoming superhero film directed by Scott Derrickson. It is a live-action adaptation of Marvel's comic book character of the same name and is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2016. The film will attempt to explore the world of the supernatural as well as mysticism in Phase Three of the MCU.
