Fans are already anticipating a OnePlus 3 phone after the fairly recent launch of its predecessor. What will be the phone's specs and release date?
OnePlus CEO and Co-founder Car Pei has confirmed that there will be a new phone to be released for the holiday season. However, there is no indication on what phone they will be rolling out on Christmas.
Earlier, the company already tipped that they are developing a new chipset which could be used in the rumored OnePlus 3, according to Hacked News. Could the new phone be the OnePlus 3?
OnePlus 3 Rumored Specs
Since it would most likely be an upgrade from the OnePlus 2, the new phone could sport a 5.5-inch display with an ultra-high definition (UHD) resolution. It's not known whether it will be 8K UHD for 7680 x 4320 pixels or just 4K UHD for 3840 x 2160. Considering that there isn't 8K UHD for phones yet, the latter would most likely be the choice.
The OnePlus 3 could also be powered by an unnamed octa-core processor clocked at 3.2 GHz, according to OnePlusThree3.com. It could also sport a massive 4400mAh battery for longer screen-on and standby time.
Since most high-end phones now have 4GB RAM, the phone could have at least 4GB or even 5GB. However, the latter choice would be overkill.
The OnePlus 3 is also rumored to have a heartbeat sensor, a retina sensor and a finger print sensor. Since it would have the finger print sensor, it could also run Android 6.0 Marshallow out of the box.
Some features that would be nice is the fast charging option and NFC support, according to Tech Radar. A microSD card slot would also be appreciated.
OnePlus 3 Release Date
For the price and release date of the OnePlus 3, it could run between $420 and $500. It could be launched on Christmas at the earliest per Pei's announcement.
The OnePlus 3 has no solid details yet and the company has not given any information either. Fans will have to wait at least till Christmas to hear more about the new phone.
