NBC's newest series "Blindspot" has been grabbing the attention of viewers everywhere but despite this monumental success, it has been reported that the show's ultimate end has been sealed in.
With barely two months since it's airing, "Blindspot" has been going through a good run - critically and commercially speaking. The show has been lauded for its innovative storyline about a woman filled with mysterious tattoos that linked to a crime of the past. Ratings-wise, Variety reports that "Blindspot" has hit jackpot as it has been sitting atop the charts as the most viewed adult series for the 18-49 demographic, sharing the same honor with the highly popular CBS series Supergirl.
Filled with lots of cryptic scenes and narratives, the show has successfully created a gradually growing fanbase that is very dedicated on deciphering each mystery weaved within every episode. Showrunner Martin Gero recently sat with LA Times where he talked about the show's cult-like status and how fans are trying to get ahead and above the story by postulating theories online. Gero is very elated to know that more people are taking interest in "Blindspot" and that the discussions about the show go beyond the ending of an episode.
"It's great to see an audience that isn't just watching the show week-to-week, but is really thinking and trying to decode the show even when it's not on," Gero said.
However, despite the success that "Blindspot" is currently enjoying, Gero also adds that he and the writers already have the ending of the show settled as early as now. In an interview with TV Series Finale, Gero said that doing so is easier than trying to map out what happens next every after episode.
"It was really important for us to know what all the tent poles were going to be for us this season and write backwards, as opposed to try to figure it out as we went along - which, to be honest, I just don't know how to do. So, yeah, it's pretty solidly set," he adds.
From the looks of it though, Gero and the team need not to worry as the possibility of a "Blindspot" renewal looks really bright and promising.
