HTC One M8 has been revealed with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software through screenshots published by a known tipster on Twitter. The screenshots revealed a bunch of optimizations happening on the phone including the home screen, apps, contacts, quick start panel and battery.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is really coming to HTC One M8 devices soon, as it is confirmed last month that it is coming in the fourth quarter of 2015. Per revelation of well-known Android firmware provider YouMobile, the device is now on the verge of wrapping up the development phase of the new build.
The Taiwan tech giant decided to skip Android 5.1 Lollipop and head over to Marshmallow. Early in September, HTC had already revealed its Marshmallow roadmap. As exciting as it sounds, the tech site divulged the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and how it looks like when rolled out on One M8 devices.
Revealed screenshots showed that the Marshmallow test happened on October 01, 2015. Accordingly, One M8 will receive new features and improvements in several aspects of the phone, including the user interface, battery, and the much anticipated Sense 7.0 user interface (UI).
In the photos posted by tipster @LlabTooFer on Twitter, the Sense 7.0 UI will boast a flatter and minimalistic look, new notification panel, new icons, improved system apps, new theme app to support Sense 7.0 features, new home screen, improved settings menu, new widgets, new lock screen, better app permissions, better battery management, and several other improvements and security patches
According to the same site, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to release before 2015 ends, around November.
Along with One M8, its predecessor One M9 is also expected to receive the update at the same time frame. Meanwhile, HTC One M9+ is pegged for the upgrade in the first quarter of 2016.
Other HTC devices confirmed for the upgrade include One M8s, One M8 EYE, One M8 GPE, One ME, One E9, One E9+, One E8, and a few others in the Desire line.
