Blizzard Entertainment has treated the hardcore fans of World of Warcraft with a host of new gameplay details for the game's next big expansion, Legion, confirmed to release on or before September 21, 2016. What made them even more ecstatic about is the release of an epic official cinematic trailer at BlizzCon 2015.
However, prior to the recently concluded Blizzcon 2015, the release date for World of Warcraft: Legion was reportedly leaked online. Based on an image that was published via Battle.net as first reported by GameSpot, the release of the new expansion is slated on or before September 21, 2016. The said post was later removed from the developer's page.
In addition, the leak revealed pre-order bonuses such as an early access to the new Demon Hunter class and a instant Level 100 character boost. For the pricing details, the standard edition costs $50 USD while the deluxe option which include digital content for Diablo III and Starcraft II plus in-game mount and pet is priced for $70 USD.
Back at BlizzCon, Blizzard lead designer Ion Hazzikostas announced during a panel that it has plans to alter the structure of the way leveling will be played out in World of Warcraft Legion. Also, new playable class and a number of new zones can be looked forward to by fans.
The most significant change to be brought in Legion is that instead of players being sent on a direct path from zone to zone, the leveling zones will now be based on character's level. Hazzikostas called it as 'true open world.' The four leveling zones that players will be able to freely moved in random order are Azsuna, Val'Sharah, Highmountain and Stormheim, Polygon wrote.
Hazzikostas also noted that the scaling system means the endgame quests can take gamers to any part of a zone as opposed to previous expansions. Endgame missions have myriad of objectives, player-versus-player, world raid bosses, crafting, and minigames.
The expansion's official cinematic trailer has also been released at the prestigious annual event. [Watch Video]
