A video tutorial of Street Fighter 5 which is a part of the 2.3 gigabyte update of the beta for PS4 users has gone online and it is presented with a story mode that features Gouken along with Ken and Ryu.
According to Event Hubs, the tutorial video introduces the players to the basics of fighting games such as the simple action of moving forward towards the opponent, high and low attacks, blocking an attack and it ended with Ryu using his Ryu's V-Skill and V-Trigger.
The tutorial is presented with a story which starts with Ryu imagining back his training, and then it cuts to Gouken training Ryu along with Ken. Game Spot reported that both Ryu and Ken's costume looks like their Alpha-era iterations, or famously called by fans as Floppy Hair Ryu and Ponytail Ken.
The tutorial presented in a story mode could be one of the unique features that Street Fighter 5 producer Matt Dahlgren has promised. Dahlgren, in an interview with HipHopGamer last month, was asked if Capcom will continue their style of storytelling the way they do it with the previous Street Fighter games. Game Spot noted that the Capcom may get inspiration from their competitors such as NetherRealm Studios' cinematic approach style of storytelling with Mortal Kombat X.
Without delving into details, he stated the new features about the game that fans should look forward to by saying, "I can't reveal specifics on our story but I can say we are going to be doing things differently this time around...We're definitely paying attention to what our competitors are doing and want to raise the bar. Story content is going to be unique and different from any previous Street Fighter game."
Street Fighter 5 is developed exclusively for PS4 and PC via strategic partnership between Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and Capcom, with cross-platform play between both systems. It is expected to be released on or before March 31, 2016.
