A new LG smartphone that has been recently certified by FCC is said to be the latest version of the South Korean tech giant's current flagship LG G4. This device is expected to sport the wireless charging technology that has been present in the current flagship models of other smartphone makers.
Yibada recenty reported that the model of the LG handset that was certified by FCC was H815PX -a very similar code with LG G4's product number H815P that was released for the South African and South American market. As noted by the site, the LG G4 product number for the U.S. market is H810 for AT&T, and H811 for T-Mobile.
The original LG G4 smartphone that was released in April, did not arrive with the wireless charging capability. Instead, this handset came with a separate charging cover as an option for users.
As of the moment, the South Korean company hasn't confirmed anything yet. This makes the situation unclear whether LG Electronics really has a plan to launch a new LG G4 variant with a wireless charging capability or not.
Latin Post stated on its article that there is a significant addition to the unnamed device's features but there will be no changes on its hardware capabilities. With this, LG's take on the holiday season may have pushed them to release a new feature that will basically change the consumer's perception about the LG G4.
Moreover, Phone Arena added that the FCC documents did not indicate other specs and features about the device aside from wireless charging capabilities. But based on the given the codename, there's a big chance that this handset will be a refined LG G4. Nevertheless, the extent of the modifications and enhancements remains unknown as of the moment.
The wireless charging capability of the rumored new LG G4 might catch the interest of more patrons, but it will also rival several smartphone companies like Apple and Samsung that offer the same feature in their most recent flagships.
