'X-Men: Apocalypse' is said to explore the relationship between Magneto and Quicksilver, who are already established as father and son. Evan Peters revealed more details about his classic silver-haired mutant and his quest to find his father.
According to Movie News Guide, the upcoming new addition in the 'X-Men' series will put the focus on the relationship between two classic mutants Magneto and Quicksilver. It was already established in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' as well as the original comic books that the Magneto is the father of Quicksilver and his twin Scarlet Witch who is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Michael Fassbender will be returning to play the young Erik Lehnsherr a.k.a. Magneto while Evan Peters will reprise his role as Peter Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver.
Peters revealed that the sequel will feature his character's search for his father, according to Cinema Blend. He said, "The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness:
He tries to stop him from destroying the world." In the preceding film, Quicksilver made his on-screen debut after being recruited into Professor Charles Xavier's team for a mission to break Magneto out of an underground prison.
It was reported by What Culture that although Fassbender's powerful mutant wasn't essentially a villain in the preceding film, he will fight for the dark side as one of Apocalypse's four horsemen in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. In the comic books, the four are named Famine, Pestilence, War and Death and will be portrayed in the film as Fassbender's Magneto, Olivia Munn's Psylocke, Alexandra Shipp's Storm and Ben Hardy's Angel.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is the sequel to 2014's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. It is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016 and is directed by Bryan Singer. It also James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Lucas Till, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
