"War For The Planet of the Apes" might feature the battle at the iconic beach that was portrayed in the original movie and "The Flash" villain Chad Rook is joining this major event as he was recently cast as one of Woody Harrelson's human soldiers.
From the title itself it is possible that a great war will be set on the iconic beach where the severed head of the Statue of Liberty can be seen as noted by Bloody Disgusting. Perhaps it might finally be explained why it even got there in the first place. According to Matt Reeves in a previous interview, fans will see Ceasar become some sort of an Ape Moses, rising into a mythic status. With what the director said and the title of the movie suggests, fans are indeed in for a treat.
Mark Bomback returns as well to write the script according to Dread Central. Mark Bomback is known to have written the screenplay for "Live Free or Die Hard", "The Wolverine", "Total Recall", and of course the 2nd installment in the trilogy," Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". If this movie is about a war, Bomback has enough credits under his belt to ensure an epic on-screen portrayal.
Woody Harrelson will be in the opposite side of the war with his character possibly leading the humans. However, taking from the previous movie, "Dawn of the Planet the Apes", Reeves did not really go for the clear cut good against evil plot. So it can be expected that even with the great war, empathy will be character based regardless whose side they are on.
An interesting addition to the cast is Chad Rook who plays Clyde Mardon in the T.V. series "The Flash". Deadline reports he will be one of the soldiers under Harrelson's command. Other cast members include Gabriel Chavarria, Amiah Miller, Sara Canning, Terry Notary, Steve Zahn, Aleks Paunovic, and Chad Rood. Judy Greer will be reprising her role as Ceasar's mate and Andy Serkis who is one of the most notable actors in motion capture will come back as the ape leader Ceasar.
Much of the plot is still kept under wraps so fans would just have to wait until the first trailer comes out, quite possibly in 2016. "War For the Planet of the Apes" is set to hit cinemas on July 14, 2017
