‘DayZ’ Console Prototype Launch Pushed Further to Q1 2016

Fans of the zombie apocalypse game, DayZ, who have waited so long for the game's console release would even have to wait longer as the schedule was pushed to Q1 of 2016. Such was confirmed in a straight manner by developer Bohemia Interactive in its Twitter account.

The console prototype's release was first announced for PS4 during the 2014 Gamescom, however, its release date remained unclear ever since. Recently, game publisher Bohemia Interactive's update provides for DayZ's console prototype to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2016. PlayStation Lifestyle reports that it was reiterated in the game's official Twitter account that they are allotting more focus on the game's PC version. The Tweet said: "The main focus of the @dayzdevteam is the PC version, while a first console prototype is expected in Q1 2016."

According to a Video Gamer report, DayZ will not hit the Xbox Game Preview program this 2015. Bohemia Interactive's Tweet signifies that the first console prototype is yet short of development and will not be released before the year end. This, according to the site, ruled out the hoped surprise release of the game for PS4 and Xbox One this year. With this, it is not clear whether the prototype would be made available for public consumption or would simply be celebrated as an internal milestone on the development level. Game Creator Dean Hall left Bohemia Interactive last December to open a new studio.

On April of 2013, Hall spoke of a development of a console version of the zombie survival game for PC. According to MCV, the game was hinted on June 2014 to be out before the end of the year. However, exactly after a year on June 2015, Microsoft has announced that DayZ is coming to Xbox One as Xbox Game Preview title wherein gamers are allowed to buy in-game development titles. A PS4 release was also announced. The console prototype was then drafted to be released by the third quarter of 2015. However, the Twitter post by Bohemia had confirmed another delay, which pushed for Q1 2016.

It seems that the long wait for the console gamers would be prolonged, as DayZ's console release was pushed for the first quarter of 2016. PS4 and Xbox One owners would have to wait a little longer for another official announcement until the zombie apocalypse game hits their consoles.
