Moto X (2015), Moto G and Moto MAXX Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Release Update

Similar to other smartphone makers, Motorola has promised their patrons the arrival of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to their handset soon. The Moto X, Moto G and Moto MAXX turn out to be the first devices that will obtain Google's latest operating system upgrade.

According to Neurogadget, the aforementioned devices will most likely to acquire the upgrade via over-the-air. There are various reports claiming that Moto X (2015) models will receive the Android M upgrade first while the Moto G and Moto MAXX OS OTA update will follow. In fact the site claims that Motorola has already started releasing the Android Marshmallow upgrade to the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 version and has let several users to dry run the upgrade.

Despite this, owners of other Motorola handsets do not need to worry as the OS updgrade might also reach their devices. Gospel Herald stated other handsets that were eligible for the marshmallow update. The List includes: the 2015 flagship Moto X Pure Edition (Gen 3), Moto X Style (Gen 3), 2015 Moto X Play, Moto G (Gen 3), 2014 Moto X Pure Edition (Gen 2), 2014 Moto X (Gen 2) specific to Latin America, Europe and Asia, 2014 Moto G, Moto G 4G LTE (Gen 2), 2014 Moto Turbo, 2014 Moto MAXX, Motorola Nexus 6 and DROID Turbo.

Latinos Post reported that as of the moment it is not yet confirmed when the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will start. Moreover, the newest upgrade is believed to be 500 MB in size so it is advised for owners of the above mentioned handsets to ensure that their smartphones have enough space for this file size.

It is also worth knowing that with the release of the new Android version, Motorola will preload its handsets with Moto Assist, Moto Migrate and Motorola Connect. It will duplicate features of the Android version 6.0 including Do Not Disturb (DND) and automatic data backup.

Even though there is no specific information yet about the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out for Moto X, Moto G and Moto MAXX, many are still looking forward to receive the upgrade soon. Meanwhile, owners of other aforementioned devices are advised to wait as well for Motorola's further announcements.
