Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello was rumoured to be dating Shawn Mendes not too long ago. But the young celebrities claimed that they're just "friends".
The two still remain close together and while they may not be hitting off things romantically, they sure are finding love in each other's music. Reportedly, the 18-year-old will be working with Mendes for a song collaboration.
This news was confirmed when the two stars released a 15-second teaser for their upcoming duet. The video was uploaded to Mendes' YouTube channel featuring the song "I Know What You Did Last Summer." The sneak peek reveals each of the pop singers' silhouettes in front of a blue background and ended with a link to a website, 'IKWYDLS.COM'. Though if you visit the site, you can only see a background of television static along with the hashtag #IKWYDLS and the date November 18th.
The young singers have been showing the possibility of working on a song together long before. As both are quite active in each of their social media accounts, they shared a short video on Instagram of their music session.
It's been noted that while this is the first collaboration for one of the youngest member of Fifth Harmony girl band, the Canadian has previously shared a duet with singer actress, Hailee Steinfeld, on an acoustic version of the song "Stitches".
And speaking of the song "Stitches", this front single of Mendes has propelled his name further in the music industry. Starting only as a vine star, the 17-year-old earns the no.1 spot on Billboard Pop Songs Chart with "Stitches" from his debut album "Handwritten".
On the other hand, Cabello also shares Billboard fame. Fifth Harmony was recently honoured with the Group of the Year award at Billboard's Women in Music event. And the group is also expected to perform at the 10th annual event of Billboard this Dec. 18.
Notably, both young singers are having a good start in their careers, thus making their duet a highly anticipated collaboration.
But of course, fans are not only excited to hear the young pop singers' talents, they're also updating whether this duet can be a start of a good love story.
