HTC expanded the availability and reach of the Desire 728G Dual Sim by launching it last Monday in India. The handset is available for Rs.17,990 (about $270 when converted).
According to Tech Times, one of the most notable specs of the device is its ability to be expanded from the 16 GB of internal memory to as much as a whopping 2 TB of expanded memory. Aside from that, the phone does not come with highly-remarkable specs as it aims to be a mid-range phone for developing phone markets.
The Desire 728G handset comes with a 5.5-inch HD display in 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It packs an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, with a 64-bit architecture running at 1.3GHz that is supported by 1.5 GB of RAM. Gadgets 360 further notes that the handset comes out of the box with an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware with HTC Sense 7.
The camera on the backside is a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, while the frontside camera has 5 megapixels.
Indian Express further expounds specs of the HTC Desire 728G to have support for Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and micro-USB 2.0 port. The battery capacity is 2800 mAh which allows up to 26 hours on 2G, and 21 hours on 3G, according to HTC.
In the launch, Faisal Siddiqui, President of HTC South Asia, stated that the HTC Desire 728G aims to bring distinctive design into a great value smartphone. For the price that users will pay for the device, it is considered to be a feature-rich gadget. However, the Indian market is in high supply of mid-range devices, so analysts are waiting to see whether the device will fair well in the market, considering that it is not the most price competitive and does not support 4G.
The HTC Desire 728G comes in two color options: purple and white.
