‘Nina Forever’ Release Date Confirmed for Valentine’s Day 2016; Fiona O’Shaughnessy Praised for Superb Performance as Nina

'Nina Forever' is an upcoming British comedy-horror film that explores grief, love and life after death. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on Valentine's Day 2016 under Epic Pictures Group. Main actress Fiona O'Shaughnessy is praised for her superb performance as the dead ex-girlfriend Nina.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the critically acclaimed British comedy-horror film starring Fiona O'Shaughnessy is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016. It first premiered at the 2015 SXSW film festival in Texas. The SXSW took place from March 13 to 22 in Austin and screened 145 feature films including 'The Final Girls', 'Moonwalkers' and 'Trainwreck'.

It was reported that Epic Pictures Group acquired rights for the film at the SXSW festival where it earned positive reviews and a strong following, according to Horror Movies. According to Epic's press release, the film earned numerous nominations for the British Independent Film Awards including Best Director and Most Promising Newcomer. It also received the Best Feature Award for FrightFest 2015.

According to Dread Central, 'Nina Forever' follows the story of woman and her boyfriend tormented by the ghost of his dead ex-girlfriend Nina. Nina, who died because of a motorcycle accident, appears in a tangled mess of blood and broken bones every time the couple make love. It is a morbidly funny take on grief and love as well as life after death.

Fiona O' Shaughnessy received critical acclaim for her performance as Nina, with some critics deeming her "a cult player in the making". The Irish actress performed in theater productions before turning her attention to roles in film and television. She appeared in films such as 'Outcast', 'Malice in Wonderland', 'Nightwatching' and 'Until Death'.

'Nina Forever' is a dark comedy and horror film directed by Ben and Chris Blaine. It stars O'Shaughnessy, Abigail Hardingham, Cian Barry, Elizabeth Elvin and David Troughton. It made its debut at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas on March 14, 2015 and is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 12, 2016.
