By

Nintendo recently released a video featuring some new footages of its all new game, Pokken Tournament. While only available in Japanese arcades at the moment, the game shall be released on Spring of 2016 with the Shadow Mewtwo as playable character.

The appearance of Shadow Mewtwo was first confirmed through a video released by The Pokemon Company. Shadow Mewtwo appeared as a special boss in the video but the game developers confirmed that it will be a fully playable character in its WiiU release in the Spring of 2016. In its first run, Attack of the Fanboy reports that a special amiibo card shall enable a player to use the Shadow Mewtwo.

Furthermore, while there shall be no necessity to play through the game in order to unlock a Shadow Mewtwo with the special amiibo card, the character can also be unlocked under certain game conditions. According to Anime News Network, the game debuted on Japanese arcades last July with eight playable Pokemons playable upon launching. These include Charizard, Weavile, Lucario, Machamp, Gradevoir, Syicune, Gengar, and Pikachu. Blaziken and Pikachu Libre were added later. There were also these 'support Pokemon' which battles along with the aforementioned and provides assistance through the 'L' button. The available Support Pokemon are Emolga, Lapras, Snivy, Frogadier, Evee, and Fennekin.

The new footage also showed the gameplay and visual qualities. Comicbook reports that the game was built from Bandai-Namco's Tekken engine, with which intense action moves and a few surprises shall be expected. On the other news, Nintendo also announced the release of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow versions on Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo's Pokken Tournament, with Shadow Mewtwo as a playable character, shall be released on Japanese consoles on March 18, and around Spring of 2016 for Western release. The game is exclusive for Nintendo WiiU.
