New Xbox One Experience rolls out with new interface, 360 backwards compatibility; Changes not enough?

By

The New Xbox One Experience has began to roll out worldwide with the latest interface and 360 backwards compatibility. It brings new looks on Xbox One's Dashboard as Windows 10 comes to Microsoft's gaming console.

Anand Tech have mentioned that the first thing that can easily be noticed in the New Xbox One Experience is the latest interface which is close to Windows 10 theme. Additionally, the new dashboard looks like the Windows 10 Xbox app, mainly because of the left navigation and vertical scrolling for accessing pinned content.

While the previous dashboard also shows the list of the several recently used items, the new experience will only show a single item aside from the active task. So users need to scroll down just to search the other items.

The new experience is said to be quicker than before in terms of chatting or even finding groups for games. Loading the Xbox guide while playing a game is faster now and it doesn't get slow in the process. It shows they have improved this aspect after seeing it on the top items among the topics on the Feedback forum.

Another huge feature added is Xbox 360 backwards compatibility and a total of 104 games which are now playable, said Stuff TV. The report says more games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops and BioShock Infinite will be added on December.

However, VG247 believes that these Xbox One's major changes are still not big enough. They have noticed that there are 48 tabs on Xbox One's categories which they consider as clutter.

The categories such as Pins, Home, ,What's On, Friends, and Store have multiple smaller windows below. The Pins have 8 tabs; Home 9; What's On 9; Friends 12; Store 3, and 5 more hidden categories.

Many Xbox fans are loving their new gaming experience. It seems that the new Xbox One Experience' interface along with its 360 backwards compatibility are the changes they've been waiting for.
