The Walking Dead will go into hiatus break in two weeks, and as expected the stakes will be bigger on the show’s midseason finale slated to air on Nov. 29th. To whet the fans’ appetite, AMC has released a brief synopsis of the special hour titled “Start To Finish”. Meanwhile, the zombie smash has added Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play an iconic villain from the comics.
The Walking Dead season 6 kicked off strongly, opening with an hour heavy-loaded with walkers. It also allowed for a mysterious storyline -- following Steve Yeun’s name which was removed from the show’s opening credits. Until now, fans are still in the dark as to whether Glenn is still alive or dead.
As the series heads down to its midseason finale, it is expected to uncork another episode filled with high-stakes sequences. According to the synopsis released by AMC via SpoilerTV, “Start to Finish” will find the Alexandrians meeting with a new kind of “trouble” after being able to catch a break for a short while. It also warned that this new “threat” is something Rick and co. should watch out for as it “might be too big to defeat”.
On a related discussion, it has been speculated online that the trouble hinted in the synopsis might have something to do with Carl (Chandler Riggs). According to Design and Trend, it has been rumored that the midseason finale will find Carl losing an eye --- which will parallel to what happened to his character in Robert Kirkman’s comic book series.
No word yet from any of The Walking Dead bosses if these ongoing rumors are true.
In other developments, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy/The Good Wife) has recently boarded the cast of TWD. Variety reported the casting news last week.
Morgan has been tapped to play comic book villain, Negan, who’s been described as the leader of the Saviors.
The Saviors is “a ruthless group that demands food and supplies from other communities in “exchange” for protection from the walkers,” the publication wrote.
Morgan, who currently stars on The Good Wife, will make his entrance on the finale of season 6 and will return in season 7.
The Nov. 29th installment of The Walking Dead will mark the show’s midseason finale this year, and fans should expect for a suspenseful hour yet again. The show has also added Jeffrey Dean Morgan to join season 6, portraying one of the comic's Big Bad.
