Mozilla has released the Firefox Browser for iOS devices, including the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. iOS version of Firefox offers a reading view, private browsing mode and everything that Apple users expect from a web browser.

According to Yibada, Firefox Vice President Nick Nguyen have posted on the company's official blog, "Firefox for iOS lets you take your favorite browser with you wherever you go with the Firefox features you already love."

The Apple's built-in browser Safari is having a lot of competitors nowadays. The Chrome has been on the platform for quite some time and the Opera is also available although it is not that known just like its rivals. Now, the newest thorn on Safari's side is Firefox.

Many people might still consider Firefox as a newcomer in the platform that is already conquered by Safari and Chrome. But then, Firefox will not enter the venture without its own brand of features that might attract iOS users to switch into the new browser.

Design & Trend stated that Mozilla has been working hard on enhancing the browser for Apple devices for some time now. The iOS version of Firefox depends on Apple's own JavaScript and rendering engine and Mozilla had to completely rewrite the web browser for Apple's operating system, a way different from the versions for other operating systems.

The Firefox for iOS comes with its typical design and offers all the features available in the desktop version. It was also reported that the Firefox for iOS provides suggested search results and a list of search options, including Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Twitter, Amazon and WordPress. The iOS users can also open tabs synced between Firefox on the desktop and their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Apart from the features that Firefox for iOS carries, Apple Insider reported that Mozilla got 9.52 percent of the overall browser market which includes both computers and mobile devices. This put the intelligent search engine on third place, behind Google Chrome at 46.7 percent, and Apple's Safari with 11.96 percent.

With the Mozilla Firefox browser entering the iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, the company can expect an increase in the overall browser market. Users are promised with an easier but improved browser as the interface of the intelligent search engine will be similar to that of the computer, so the users of the iOS handsets will not be new to it.
