Filming of Wonder Woman, DC's cxtended Universe mightiest heroine, is certainly under way. Saïd Taghmaoui recently shared photos on social media revealing his involvement in the project as well as first set photos of him and Chris Pine.
After her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gal Gadot is gearing up for her upcoming solo movie, Wonder Woman, along with Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Aside from them, cast details have been scarce and hushed.
However as reported by Uproxx, Saïd Taghmaoui was confirmed to be on board the project after he posted set photos on his social media accounts. The photos were later taken down although copies of it are still saved online.
One of the photos showed his chair along with Gadot's and Pine's placed beside each other while the other one features him along with Pine wearing their costumes which seemed to confirm rumors that the film will not be entirely set in the present day.
According to Comic Book Movie, Taghmaoui's confirmation was first revealed in the October issue of the French magazine, Ultra. "I'll be playing a superhero but details are still under wraps, so I can't tell you much.", his statement read when roughly translated via Google Translator. Moreover, his statement could also mean that he is playing as one of the good characters.
He further mentioned that he initially started as one of the many options for the role and added that preparation was not as easy. "I was among hundreds of potential candidates, and I slowly became the favorite", he said. "It wasn't easy. It took me three months. [I'll have to go through] extensive physical training. Shooting was slated to begin in November, and will take about 6 months, in 4 different countries.", Taghmaoui added.
As suggested by Taghmaoui's photo, "Nightingale" is the movie's working title. As revealed by Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven during his talk with Collider, the filming for Wonder Woman will be in Italy and UK. "We're actually gonna start shooting [Wonder Woman] towards the end of [November]... We are shooting in the U.K. and in Italy", Roven stated.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and screenplay written by Jason Fuchs. It is set to be produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, and Richard Suckle. It is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
