Last may, Nintendo has released an ink shooting, team based game, Splatoon, which featured Inklings as playable characters. The Inklings have the ability to transform between human and squid forms and are armed with ink splattering weapons. With the rising hype of the ink game, Nintendo was prompted to regularly release new gears and features for the further development of the game. Such recent release offered a really huge plethora of goodies such as new gears, weapons, worlds, and even a tournament that is now reported to be in development.
Forty pieces of gear were added for the use of Inklings on November 12. The key themes of the new gears, according to VG 24/7 report, are the winter items and the new bandana set designs. Furthermore, Nintendo has unveiled a new trailer which shows the Inkredible new stage.
One of the new stages is the Museum d' Alfonsino which features a lot of infamous paintings from the Squidworld, as Shacknews reports. The environment also provides five rotating platforms wherein Inklings could travel across, from one platform to another while wrecking opponents with ink shots. Moreover, Nintendo has also reported that it shall continue to release additional contents from time to time, as it is reported that another new world will be released, named the Mahi-Mahi Resort which includes a pool side.
Finally, it was also announced that Nintendo shall continue updating the game with new contents until January 2016. According to Anime News Network, these contents include new stages, gears, and gameplay adjustments. On the other hand, a special Splatoon centered tournament was also revealed and shall be held on December. Called the Nintendo Treehouse Splatournament, the game shall have its livestream tournament on Twitch, YouTube, and Splatoon's official website.
Splatoon fans must stay tuned for the further details of the Splatournament. In the meantime, they may enjoy the latest updates on the game which featured 40 additional items and 2 new worlds. Such updates shall continue until January 2016.
