There were a lot of smartphone manufacturers that have confirmed its handsets' support for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release. ASUS may be one of the last to announce but its still good to know that the company is bringing the latest operating system to its ASUS ZenFone 2 series and PadFone S.

According to Android Central, ASUS made an announcement on its company's forums that five of its devices are slated to receive the update. The phones which ASUS has named include: PadFone S, ZenFone 2, ZenFone 2 Deluxe / Special Edition, ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Selfie. There was no definite information when the update will be released but ASUS has confirmed that they are really planning to bring the update to these handsets soon.

Furthermore, BGR cited some of the improvements and enhancements that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring to the aforementioned devices. The Android Marshmallow update will bring a lot new features such as Do Not Disturb mode for blocking all sounds, notifications and alarms. The App Permissions for greater control over privacy will also be observed upon the update of the handsets. Google has also added a new Doze Mode that shuts down all background apps when the smartphone is in the sleep mode for a long time.

Softpedia further added that there are no Zenfone 5 models incorporated in the list of eligible devices for the Marshmallow upgrade. But many are hoping that Asus' Marshmallow plans would include more than just the Zenfone 2 series and PadFone S as mentioned earlier since Taiwanese company has launched a lot of models this year.
