Ryan Murphy was able to execute another crossover from his past installments of "American Horror Story". Tuesday’s outing have connected Hotel to season one’s Murder House in a flashback scene of Lady Gaga. In other AHS development, series star Dennis O’Hare talked about his character’s lost love in a recent interview.
In episode 6 of Hotel, viewers finally learned how the current season is closely tied to Murder House when Lady Gaga visited Dr. Montgomery for an abortion. TV Guide has shared the details on a "American Horror Story" Season 5 recap.
Montgomery (played by Matt Ross) is a character from Murder House prominently known as the surgeon to the stars. In Hotel, he assisted on performing Lady Gaga’s termination of her 3-weeks pregnancy only to find out that the baby has survived into a monstrous creature. This storyline allowed for the introduction of The Countess’ son, Bartholomew.
Dennis O’ Hare, meanwhile, opened up about Liz Taylor’s short-lived romantic arc with Tristan (Finn Witrock). In “Room 33” which aired last week, The Countess has killed his one great love after his request for both of their freedom to be together.
The actor shared his views about Liz’ affair with Tristan, sharing that he and co-star Wittrock have talked about why affairs are “delicious”.
“And it is because they are not real,” he said in an interview with Yahoo.
He also defended The Countess’ decision to slit Tristan’s throat right off the bat.
“Later on, you will find out that she wants to take care of unfinished business,“ the actor shared.
According to O’Hare, The Countess has a better purpose for killing his true love and that is to “preserve forever the best moment of that love”. By making him a widow, she gave Liz a perfect memory of a perfect love. For O’Hare, it was an “amazing” idea to perceive the strong emotion.
As the show moves forward, The Countess is set to learn the fate of her first true love. Titled “Flicker”, the next suspenseful hour of Hotel will also uncover one of Hotel Cortez’ greatest kept secrets. Details of the episode were shared by The Futon Critic.
