A recently leaked update roadmap has revealed that Samsung may start rolling out the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its high-end Galaxy devices such as Galaxy S6, S5, Note 5, and Note 4 shortly.
According to Gospel Herald, due to the recently leaked update roadmap, the Galaxy users are now informed of being able to check out if when the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow will hit their smartphones and phablets. The aforesaid roadmap that was actually an internal document. This is a sort of an update guide where a list of Samsung models has been revealed along with agreeing estimated dates of arrival (ETA) of the Marshmallow update.
Two phases that provide details to when Samsung planned to release the new software has been identified by this document. As for the first phase, it includes the recent models like the Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920G) and Galaxy S6 Edge+ (SM-N928G). By next month, these two devices are expected to receive the update.
A report from International Business times has also cited that the leaked internal document unveiled that the South Korean Giant will roll out the new OS in its first phase with Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6, S6 Edge, Note 4, Note edge, S5 and Galaxy Alpha, which are the company's high-end flagship Galaxy models. It is reported that the update has been permitted for a majority of the phones in this list assume the S5 and the Alpha that are still waiting to obtain approval.
NDTV Gadgets report that an OTA firmware update which primarily offers improvements for call stability and battery life has started to roll out for Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones last month. Nevertheless, in terms of the Android 6.0 update, Samsung hasn't announced any plans to when this will be rolled out to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ including the other flagship, the Galaxy Note 5. But the latest leaked list indicates that these smartphones will be included in the company's first phase of Marshmallow rollouts.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will start to roll out in December for the Note 5 and S6 Edge+. On the other hand, owners of S6 can S6 Edge could receive the latest OS in January while for the Note 4 as well as its curved screen model Note edge is scheduled in February.
