Asus in its official Zen Talk forums has recently declared that its ZenFone 2, Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe / Special Edition, ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone Selfie and Asus Padfone S will receive the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Phone Arena reports that the official announcement during the company's forums did not mention possible release date for the update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the aforementioned Asus devices. Furthermore, the announcement did not also discuss the features that could be expected on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
On the other hand, a report from NDTV Gadgets presented the new features that will be provided by the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is reported to bring revamped app permissions; Google Now on Tap feature; new Chrome feature where the Web experience for Android users will be changed; new ways to handle Web links; Android Pay mobile payment system has already become official with Android M.
Furthermore, it will have a new fingerprint APIs for developers to add into their apps, as well as a New Silent feature intended for sound, vibrate and 'Do Not Disturb' modes where all sounds or only alarms and notifications will be blocked. A battery saver features dubbed as Doze which has the ability to make Android devices clever in terms of managing power will be brought by this update, too.
Lastly, a support for USB Type-C ports ,new RAM manager, adoptable storage devices, new app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps are some of the additions also included in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
